How do I connect my email client to the DIDO email server?
DIDO supports both POP3 and IMAP for reading messages and SMTP for sending. When you use POP3, messages are downloaded to your device from the server and are then usually erased from the server (depending on your POP configuration settings). When you use IMAP, messages are downloaded to your device but remain on the server. IMAP is useful when you want to access your email from more than one device. Use the following settings:
POP3
- Mail server address: mail.dido.ca
- POP3 port: 993
- Encryption: SSL
- Authentication (required): Username is your email address
IMAP
- Mail server address: mail.dido.ca
- Port: 995
- Encryption: SSL
- Authentication (required): Username is your email address
SMTP
- Mail server address: mail.dido.ca
- Port: 587
- Encryption: STARTTLS
- Authentication (required): Username is your email address
How do I connect to the DIDO FTP server?
If you have a web hosting package, you can use an FTP client to connect to your folder on the server. You must first create the FTP account Use the following settings:
- host: dido.ca
- encryption: use plain FTP (insecure)
- login type: normal
